Edison was awarded a grant to contract with a firm to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment and create an Age-Friendly Leadership Team to best address the needs of the township’s diverse older population, which includes a large South Asian community. Edison, Middlesex County’s largest town with a population of nearly 108,000, in March 2026 joined the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities.
