Lakewood Community Services Corp., a nonprofit provider of older adult services, was awarded a grant to establish a broad age-friendly partnership of nonprofit and government entities to collaborate on an age-friendly needs assessment in this rapidly growing Ocean County community of 135,000. Survey results are intended to be used in a community action plan addressing transportation, housing, and healthcare and culturally competent services in this community, which is home to large numbers of seniors who are Hasidic/Orthodox Jewish, Hispanic and/or speak another language other than English at home.
